Pius XII visits St. John Lateran

Hello!

Here is another video clip of Pius XII visiting St. John Lateran (Sacrosancta Lateranensis ecclesia omnium urbis et orbis ecclesiarum mater et caput).

Almost at the end of the clip, you can see Pius XII standing on the Sedia (on the loggia) and giving the Papal Blessing!

Enjoy!

It's incredible the stamina of Pius XII to stand up on the Sedia Gestatoria while being in the loggia of the Basilica Lateranense. Incredible.

If you want to see another blog that really tackles the issue of immigration well, check out Evangelical Catholicism.

It is very good and very orthodox.

Does anybody know if Pius XII has been declared a "Venerable"? In the internet appears as if JPII declared Pius XII a venerable but this is not possible, because his process has not yet reached that the stage of venerable.

humboldt,

He has not been beatified yet. Now, I do not know if the title "Venerable" can be used for those whose process has been opened. In that case, that might be why he is JPII referred to him using that title. Another possibility might be that usually Popes say " ...Our Predecessor, of venerable memory, etc...," which does not imply that Pius XII is already beatified.
